By accessing and using GambleGuard (gambleguard.net), the GambleGuard Chrome Extension, and the Commitment Vault (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.
2. Service Description
GambleGuard provides tools and resources to support gambling recovery, including:
- Streak tracking and progress visualization
- Streak AI — a custom-trained AI coaching companion
- Journaling with AI-powered trigger analysis
- Calming exercises (breathing, mindfulness, grounding)
- Chrome Extension for blocking gambling websites
- Commitment Vault — a blockchain-based self-custody time-lock for ETH
Our Service is designed to supplement, not replace, professional treatment.
3. Medical Disclaimer

GambleGuard is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our AI coach provides support and information, but it is not a licensed therapist or counselor. If you are experiencing a crisis, please call the National Council on Problem Gambling helpline at 1-800-522-4700 or seek immediate professional help.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating an account
- Keep your password and wallet credentials secure and confidential
- Use the Service for its intended purpose (recovery support)
- Not attempt to circumvent or disable the Chrome Extension's blocking features
- Not share your account with others
- Not use the Service for any illegal purposes
- Understand and accept the risks of using the Commitment Vault (see Section 7)
5. Chrome Extension Terms
The GambleGuard Chrome Extension is designed to block gambling websites. By installing and using the extension:
- You understand the extension syncs blocked site data to your GambleGuard account
- You can disable the extension at any time, but we encourage using coping tools first
- We maintain a whitelist of recovery resources that are never blocked
- Verify installation: Only install extensions from the official Chrome Web Store listing by GambleGuard (gambleguard.net)
6. Streak AI Terms
Streak AI is our custom-trained AI coaching system. By using Streak AI:
- You understand AI responses are generated by Azure OpenAI and Google Gemini
- AI suggestions are not medical or therapeutic advice
- Your conversations may be used in real-time to improve response quality, but are NOT used for training
- You can clear your conversation history at any time
7. Commitment Vault Terms
🔒 Critical Vault Disclaimers
- • No early withdrawal: Once funds are deposited, they CANNOT be accessed until the unlock date. There is no emergency unlock, no admin override, no exceptions.
- • Self-custody: GambleGuard NEVER has access to your funds, private keys, or wallet. You are solely responsible for securing your wallet.
- • Wallet loss: If you lose access to your wallet (lose seed phrase), you permanently lose access to your vault. We cannot recover it.
- • Cryptocurrency risks: ETH value can fluctuate. You may receive more or less value than you deposited.
- • Gas fees: You are responsible for paying Ethereum gas fees for all transactions.
- • Smart contract risks: While our contracts are open-source and auditable, all smart contracts carry inherent risk.
The Commitment Vault operates on the Base blockchain (Ethereum Layer 2). By using the vault:
- You confirm you understand how blockchain and smart contracts work
- You accept full responsibility for your wallet security
- You understand that blockchain transactions are irreversible
- You acknowledge that vault funds are ONLY accessible by the wallet that deposited them
8. Strict Mode Terms
Strict Mode is an optional accountability feature that adds consequences for visiting gambling sites:
- If enabled, visiting gambling sites (detected by extension) may trigger additional consequences
- After 10+ relapses in a 30-day period, Strict Mode becomes permanently locked and cannot be disabled
- Relapse counts use a 30-day rolling window and reset as old entries age out
- Strict Mode may be auto-enabled if your vault holds $1000+ in value
9. Free Service
GambleGuard is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce premium features in the future, but core recovery tools will always remain free.
10. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review ourPrivacy Policyto understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GambleGuard and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of funds in the Commitment Vault due to wallet loss or smart contract issues
- Fluctuations in cryptocurrency value
- Reliance on AI-generated advice
- Failure of the extension to block a gambling site
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
12. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior. Note: Deleting your account does NOT affect any existing Commitment Vault contracts on the blockchain.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
By using GambleGuard, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
